Poppy was bred by Diane Jordan at the famous Wyken Stud in Worcestershire, home of many ridden champions.
Poppy is a lovely mare, very kind, but also very electric ! at times, a typical red head. She is the dam of Maerton Mayfly, Bounce,
Llewellyn and Welsh Magic and has now been broken in at the age of 10 to pursue a ridden career before going back to being a broodmare.
On her first outing she won in hand, and qualified for the National pony society summer championships in August 2006 Her second show was NPS area 10 in
June 2006, she won her barren mare Sec C class and was reserve Champion Section C just missing out on a wpcs bronze medal.
Her first show under saddle was at Northleach Welsh Pony and cob show July 2007, she was a star and came 3rd in her first picton Class.
Her second show under saddle in 2007 was The Royal Welsh ridden section C class, she was again an absolute star, and was pulled in in 10th place and kept her 10th place after being ridden by the judge Mrs Jane Holderness Roddam
Poppys full sister Wyken Pyrene who now lives in Scotland

We were initailly pulled in in 7th place, but she exceeded my expectations and went extremely well to be put up to 3rd place, and as the 1st and 2nd had already qualified got her picton place in the championship final. Second place was Wyken Lady Jasmine, by Wyken Rob Roy ridden by Anne Abrahall of Wyken Stud.
